Understanding Conditional Functions in Excursion Forms

Adding Conditional Logic to Excursion Forms (Form Conditions)

Conditional logic allows you to make form fields appear (or remain hidden) depending on the response given in another field. This ensures staff and parents only see the fields that are relevant to them when completing an excursion form.

To set up conditional logic, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Excursions → Settings → Excursion Form Section Fields.

  2. Click Add a Section and create your form fields.

  3. Scroll down to the Form Conditions area.

  4. Click Add Condition.

  5. Select a Conditional Field (note: only certain field types are supported, example at the bottom of the page).

  6. Choose the condition you’d like to apply (e.g., is equal to, is not equal to, is checked, is greater than, is less than).

  7. Select the field(s) that should display if the condition is met.

  8. Click Save.

For example:

  • If you use a Yes/No toggle, you can show additional fields only when “Yes” is selected.
  • If you use a number field, you can show specific fields only when a value is greater than or less than a set number.
  • If you use a radio field, it allows users to select only one option from a predefined list, making it ideal for either/or style questions where only a single choice is valid.

Only the following field types can be used as the basis for conditional logic:
Radio (single-choice options)
Toggle (Yes/No style switch)
Number (numeric values with greater than/less than conditions)

This keeps your forms flexible while ensuring conditions remain clear and easy to manage.
