Linking Ratios to Excursion Types and Activity Types

Ratios define the staff-to-student requirements for excursions. They must always be linked to an Excursion Type and can optionally also be linked to an Activity Type.

Steps to Configure a Ratio

1. Make sure the Activity Type is already linked to the relevant Excursion Type (via Settings → Excursion Types).

2. Go to Risk Settings → Ratio tab.

3. Either:

   • Edit an existing ratio (click the green edit pencil), or

   • Click Add Ratio to create a new one.

4. Select the Excursion Type.

5. If the Excursion Type has linked Activity Types, an Activity Type dropdown will appear.

6. (Optional) Select the Activity Type.

7. Click Save.

Notes

• Ratios must always be associated with an Excursion Type.

• If an Activity Type is also selected, the ratio will only apply when both the Excursion Type and Activity Type are chosen during excursion creation.
